NATIONAL RUNWAY SAFETY FORUM
The Spanish Aviation Safety Agency -AESA-, in collaboration with AENA (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea), organized the 1st National Runway Safety Forum on October 23 at Madrid-Barajas airport.

The objective of this first meeting is to create a multidisciplinary forum for sharing Safety information and knowledges, in order to develop good practices and relations between the different parties involved on the “Runway Operations”.

SEPLA, also takes part off the local security committees on the main national network airports. What emerged as an initiative to strength ties and create synergies between the different actors of an airport, It has become an important pillar to promote the security for our air operations.

Initially we attend meetings in the few airports with the highest traffic, and little by little more airports and airfields have been included; this is due to different and interesting topics (like AIP entries, New procedures, Accidents, Incidents, Indicators, Infrastructure changes, Runway incursions or excursions, etc.) that directly affect our daily flights are discussed.
